Teen Program

LGBTQ+ Teen Education and Support

PFLAG Niceville will be developing a youth program to serve LGBTQ+ teens in our region. The program is for teens age 14-18 and serves to provide a safe space where teens can connect and learn. The program is facilitated by volunteers who are trained and background checked, ensuring the safety of everyone.

Please note that the launch of this program has been delayed due to COVID-19. Teens -- Please check out Q Chat as a virtual safe space in the interim.

We need adult volunteers!

We are looking for volunteers who can help facilitate virtual meetings via Zoom.

  • Do you have a heart to create safe space for LGBTQ+ teens to be themselves and find community?

  • Do you have experience with or willingness to learn how to use Zoom?

  • Have a couple of hours per month to spare?

Then, please take a moment to fill out our volunteer form!

For Parents:

PFLAG Teen is a division of PFLAG Niceville, a registered 501c3 non-profit organization.

According to a 2020 national survey by The Trevor Project, 40% of LGBTQ youth considered attempting suicide in the past twelve months, and 1 in 3 LGBTQ youth reported that they had been physically threatened or harmed in their lifetime due to their LGBTQ identity.

PFLAG Niceville is here to make our region a safer and more inclusive environment for LGBT+ youth. Click here to learn about safe spaces for LGBT+ youth.

Facilitators and volunteers of PFLAG Teen are local community members who are trained and pass a background check. At no time is a teen interacting with a staff member in a solo setting. Safety is our number one concern.
