Rest in power, Justice Ginsburg!

Picture description: A quote from PFLAG National Executive Director Brian K. Bond, which reads:

“With the death of Justice Ginsburg we have lost a giant, a cultural icon, and an undeniable champion of justice. Her many pro-equality decisions helped change life for the better for LGBTQ+ people and their families, including when she joined the majority opinion on Obergefell. And when decisions didn’t go our way, she used her powerful voice in her dissenting opinions to raise up marginalized communities, from her dissent on Masterpiece Cakeshop to her dissent on the decision that eroded the Voting Rights Act.

Justice Ginsburg’s death is a massive loss for us all, and our hearts are with her family, and the many who knew and loved her. Let us honor her memory by continuing the fight for fairness, justice, and equality for all people.”

One of our local friends, a transgender woman, is experiencing serious hardships as a result of Hurricane Sally. She needs groceries desperately and her job has been interrupted by the storm, she may not be able to make her rent payment by this month’s end. If you would please consider contributing to this Venmo account we will relay funds to help her, we will return any and all funds that go over the target amount, $650. Will show you receipt, photos of purchases to confirm that the funds went directly to aid for her necessities. Thank you so much. Let’s work as a community to rebuild and to help each other as much as possible ...

UPDATE: Thank you to Hope Griffin, Stephanie Boyle Lawson, Jennifer Jennifer Dunnam Stringfellow and Misti Schneidewind for donating! We've reached the target price already! Thank you so much everyone for your help 😀 For those of you that went over the target with the last donations, we're returning the remainder to you now.

A homeless couple in Pensacola are caught in the middle of Hurricane Sally and we’re trying to get them setup with a hotel stay. This is a Venmo that is to be used to help pay for that stay. The amount left thus far to cover the stay for another day is $60, however the storm may continue through Thursday, in which for another night would be $140. If you would be willing to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. If there is any amount that goes over the target number, it will be returned to you and you’ll also be shown the hotel receipt to confirm what it went to. Thanks! Please message us
